Kedarnath temple stands at the head of the Mandakini valley, surrounded by snow peaks. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and among the Panch Kedar temples.
Most pilgrims spend a night at Kedarnath to attend the evening aarti and the morning darshan.
Trek of about 16 km from Gaurikund. Pony, palki and helicopter services operate in season.
