Rudraprayag is a beautiful place located in Uttarakhand. This district established in the year of 1997. Another name of Rudraprayag is Dev Bhumi (The Land of Gods). Rudraprayag is the five confluences of Alaknanda River and Mandakini River. This city is one of the Panch Prayag in Uttarakhand. This town is situated 34km from Srinagar (Garhwal). Rudraprayag located at the height which is rich with natural beauty. The name of Rudraprayag given after the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva. Rudraprayag is a charming small town with having a various religious consequence for many of devotees. This place where two rivers meet each other as two sisters meet with brilliant beauty. Tourists visit here to enjoy this immense beauty every year.

Rudraprayag surrounded by many rivers, streams, glaciers, and lakes here. There are a few temples which are the witness of spiritual life’s which situated in this town only. The tourist must visit these temples while travelling to Rudraprayag. There are two separate routes available from Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham for Rudraprayag.

 Kanatal: Kanatal has breathtaking views and scenery which is surrounding by mountains and rivers. Kantala town is situated near to Mussoorie and Mussoorie is the famous place for his beauty. Kanatal is Hill station located in Uttarakhand. Kanatal situated 2600km from Mussoorie. There are various places that you may visit during your trip to Kanatal.  Chamba: Chamba town located 17kms from Kanatal town. Chamba is a place which having peace of life which is surrounded by pine and deodar trees cab seen while trekking.  Kedarnath:

You can reach Kedarnath by 14 km from Gauri Kund by road. You also can trek Kedarnath by hiring helicopter service. The Helicopter service provided by the Government called ‘Pawan Hans’.

 Gaurikund: As per Hindu Mythology, Gauri, Lord Shiva’s wife had penance here to bless Lord Shiva as her husband. After many years Lord Shiva agreed and accepted Devi Gaur as his wife. They got married after this penance.

Near the Gaurikund, there are few springs available, where people are taking a bath before to start Kedarnath Trip. Also, this lake is known as Gauri Lake or Parvati Lake. Gauri Kund is the place where Parvati had inhaled life into Lord Ganesha. So many of devotees believed this lake is a holy lake to take ritual bath here. Unfortunately, after the 2013 flood, now their small stream available in place of Kund. Unhappily, after the 2013 floods, there is only a tiny stream of water flowing in area of the Gaurikund.

 Gaurikund Temple: Gaurikund Temple having the idol of Goddess Gauri, Lord Shiva’s Wife. People are visiting this place before they start there journey for Kedarnath.

Devprayag:

Devprayag, Alaknanda, and Bhagirathi river meets one place, and that place is known as a Devprayag. This place is a religious hub for devotees. This place is very spiritual as People also believe that Lord Rama and the King Dashrath performed penance here.

Jageshwar Dham: 

Jageshwara Dham is most famous because of this is one of them from the 12 jyotirlingas. These 12 jyotirlingas spread over India. Jageshwara Temple is eights one from the twelve jyotirlingas. Jageshwara Temple is one of the oldest Shiva’s Temple located in Rudraprayag. The main temple dedicated as a “Bal Jageshwar” or child form of Lord Shiva. In the of higher slopes, Vridah Jageshwar Temple” is also located.

This place is, “the Hindu Spiritual town in Almora District. This temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which located around 101km away from Nainital in Kumaon Region. As per Hindu stories, People saying, before he starts his journey for Kedarnath, Adi Shankaracharya stayed here and renovated many of temples.

  1. By Air: Jolli Grant is the nearest Airport for Rudraprayag. Jolli Grant is 160km reachable from Dehradun.
  2. By Rail: Rishikesh station is the Nearest Railway station for Rudraprayag, which is reachable by140 km.
  3. By Road: Roadways well connected for Rudraprayag from different towns. Rishikesh, Nainital, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar.
