Indian city by the Himalayan foothills, home to Ghanta Ghar clock tower, religious sites &
wildlife.
Himalaya Foothills is also known for the Shivalik and Sub Himalaya. There are majestic sights
to visit. Himalayan Foothills started from Jammu. It's continuously spread from Kangra
Valley and extends towards the Sirmaur district (Dehradun).
This valley is also known as Dun Valley. It continuously spread from Kangra Valley and
extend towards the Sirmaur district (Dehradun). Longitudinal Valley lies between Shivalik
ranges to the Greater Himalayas. Valleys were covered 35 KM in length and 25 km in width.
1. Almora
Almora Hills station is one of the most beautiful hills stations situated in Uttarakhand.
Almora city is vibrant with natural beauty. This town is famous for its heritage, wildlife,
attractively designed handicrafts, and cuisines. Koshi and Suyal River are flowing in the
Almora town. Almora district established in the 16th Century.
2. Auli Ropeway:
The Auli Ropeway connects Auli town and Joshimath hills stations. Because of this, Ropeway
Auli is one of the best attraction points to visit and enjoy the snow world. This ropeway is
one of the longest ropeways in India, which covers approximately 4km land. The gondola is
another name of Auli Ropeway. On the ten steel towers, Auli Ropeway function with
chairlift and ski lift activity.
3. Badrinath
Badrinath Temple is rich with spiritual stories. According to historical books, this place was
full of Badri trees. As per Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu came here for meditation. When he
was in deep meditation, his body fully biting with a lousy climate. His wife, Lord Laxmi,
manifested her into Badri trees to save him. When Lord Vishnu came out from the
meditation, and he saw that she protects him, then by pleasing her, he gave the name as a
"Badrikashram." As the climate is terrible, this temple had remained closed in the winter
season. Because of landslides, this place is hazardous in monsoon.

4. Chakrata Tourism
Chakrata town situated near the town Dehradun in Uttar Pradesh. Chakrata is famous for hi
forest, ancient temples, caves, and treks. Group camping is the most attractive activity in
Chakrata, which enjoy by visitors. The most beautiful waterfalls situated in Chakrata. This
town is home to wild animals like Panthers or Deer. Throughout the year, chakrata is
available for a visit. River Yamuna is also flowing from Chakrata. Civilian travelers restricted
from visiting here. This place is situated 90kms from Dehradun.
5. Jim Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park situated in Nainital. This park established in 1936, which is rich
with wild animals like Tigers. This park is "Hailey National Park" in the glory of the oldest
national park situated in India. The name given for this place is for the memory of Jim
Corbett. Jim Corbett was the Hunter.

6. Kausani
Kausani is a beautiful hill station. This place surrounded by the Trishul peaks, Nanda Devi
Peaks, Nandakot peaks, and Panchchuli peaks.
7. Dhanaulti:
Dhanaulti's place is ultimately out of crowds, markets, and Pollutions. There is a thick forest
of Deodar and Oak Trees. This place is the perfect location to burn your depression.
8. Ranikhet
There are various ancient temples situated in this town. British had re-established this town.
Ranikhet is a beautiful place with vibrant hills. As per historical accounts, Queen Padmini
was happy with this place. The hights of this town is 1829 meters. This town is having the
healthiest climate, coniferous trees, Green Meadows, tranquil surroundings. Queen's Farm
is the meaning of the Ranikhet word.
9. Rishikesh
Hrishikesh is another name of Rishikesh. This town located in Himalaya ranges. Rishikesh
town is known for its ancient temples, adventure activities, and café. Rishikesh is the Yoga
Capital famous in the world.
10. Nelong Valley (Near Gangotri)
Nelong valley situated at 25km from Bhaironghati and 34km from Gangotri. The height of
this valley is 11,000 feet. This place has a desert-like landscape. After a gap of 53 years, this
valley had reopened in May 2015. after the Indo-China war, from 1962, this valley had been
closed for civilians. Nelong valley situated in Uttarkashi district. But it was the most
prominent corridor for Indo-Tibetan trade. Nelong valley is home for some of the wildlife
species like Himalayan blue sheep, snow leopard, and Musk Deer.
11. Gangotri National Park (Near Gangotri)
Gangotri National Park is the most beautiful high – altitude wildlife sanctuaries which
founded in 1989. This national park situated near Gangotri, which was covers 2390 sq. Km.
This park has International boundaries. The river Bhagirathi flows throughout the valley in
the park. The distance from Gangotri is 1.5km vie trekking.
12. Pangot And Kilbury Bird Sanctuary (Near Nainital)
Pangot And Kilbury Bird Sanctuary are situated 15km from the Tallital Bus Stand and 3km
from Pangot. Pangot and Kilbury Bird Sanctuary are bird watcher’s paradise located in
Nainital District. This Bird Sanctuary is the viral numerous bird species. This Bird Sanctuary is
one the prime place to visit once you entered in the Nainital. This park surrounded by a
forest of Oak and Pine. This Bird Sanctuary is India's Scenic and famous birding routes, and
Kilbury is known for its 580 Species for the birds. The most founded bird is Brown wood
Owls, also found here.
13. Home to Ghanta Ghar clock tower:

In Dehradun City, Clock Tower is the most attractive Landmark. Another name of the Clock
Tower is Ghanta Ghar. There is six faces clock installed in it. The design of this Ghanta Ghar
is by Rare Greco Styled architecture. Earlier people called this clock tower as Balbir Tower.
The foundation date of Clock Tower is 02nd July 1948 by the governor of Sarojini Naidu. It
took five years to complete this construction. Also, Tower was inaugurated by Lal Bahadur
Shastri in the year 1953.
14. Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary (Near Almora)
Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary located foothill of Himalaya near to Almora district. Binsar Wildlife
Sanctuary established in 1988 in Jhandi Dhar Peak. This sanctuary developed to protect the
forest of broadleaf OAK Trees.
